As a creative studio with 3 living laboratories, every engagement is both service delivery and applied research. We continuously test, measure, and refine the methodology across our own practice and alongside our clients.

The GEM Lab

A living practice in flourishing.

The GEM Lab is where you come to get intentional about designing a flourishing life.

The GEM Lab is the Life Design Living Lab. It works at the scale of the individual and the family — wherever a person recognizes that the life they are living can be more consciously, more powerfully designed toward flourishing.

Design teams of one (and above, for families) move through the I&I rhythm across all eight domains, using character strengths as the primary design material and the full suite of FCD interventions to generate, prototype, and integrate new conditions for flourishing.

The GEM Lab is where you intentionally design a life aligned with who you truly are. We help you leverage your character strengths to build daily practices that sustain flourishing across a lifetime—through emerging adulthood, the establishing years, midlife renewal, wisdom years, and every transition in between.

Life Design Sprints

We offer families, groups, and teams in person or virtual life design sprints shaped around common life challenges or bespoke content designed specifically for needs expressed.

Life Design Coaching

Modular or full year journey

Individual or group coaching that walks the design rhythm at the pace of life. Begin with a single season and add the next when the moment arrives, or commit o the full four-season year.

THE THRIVE LAB

The THRIVE Lab is the Organizational Design Living Lab. It works at the scale of teams, departments, and whole organizations — the systems where most adults spend the majority of their waking energy and where the gap between stated values and lived culture is widest.

Design teams within organizations move through the I&I rhythm using the FCD diagnostic methods, team-level strengths mapping, and domain-specific ‘How Might We’ challenges to redesign culture at the operating-system level.

The THRIVE Lab partners with leaders who are ready to redesign the conditions that unlock untapped organizational potential. Together, we help leadership teams shift from fixing deficits to fueling strengths—creating a "Broaden-and-Build" upward spiral that opens new possibilities and creative connections.

GEM Journeys for Youth

GEM Journeys are high-impact, place-based immersions designed to deconstruct and adapt the science of flourishing across global cultures. Youth conduct "human-centered research" in the world’s most vibrant living labs.

  • Educational work on “academic flourishing” shows that when schools focus on wellbeing and character alongside achievement, students show better motivation, engagement, and long‑term academic outcomes.

  • School-based flourishing interventions that build mindfulness and emotional skills in teachers have been shown to increase teacher flourishing and significantly improve students’ academic performance compared with control classrooms.

Our Founding Circle

All three Living Labs are open to a limited number of founding engagements for individuals, families, and organizations ready to put the science of flourishing to work.

Every engagement is a design team — a unit of one person and above — working through the FCD methodology with Flourish51’s tools and direct practitioner time. What we learn together shapes how the Labs reach more people, organizations, communities & countries.

Founding Circle members receive introductory pricing, priority access to our full suite of services, priority access as new offerings open, shoulder-to-shoulder time with Flourish51 experts — and a hand in refining the methodology itself during the beta year June 21, 2026-June 20, 2027.
